Commissioning Manager

The role

Responsible for managing a multi-disciplinary team of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers including, outsourced Commissioning Specialists to implement Cilantro’s commissioning strategy and increase the standards of Cilantro’s commissioning processes.

Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of all M&E commissioning activities on the project to ensure successful completion of these activities against the programme
  • Management of the Specialist Subcontractors
  • Manage a core team of Engineers in a fast-paced environment to maintain the client’s programme
  • Interface with the utility companies
  • Management of the Commissioning Trackers, highlighting any early warning delays and safety risks to the project
  • Produce weekly and monthly reports including reports to the client and internal reports
  • Produce two weeks look ahead of Commissioning activities
  • Produce a monthly Sustainability Report
  • Management of flushing the relevant systems on site (In-house)
  • Implementation of Commissioning Strategy, including review of the strategy from time to time to ensure it is up to date with relevant legislation and client requirements
  • Attendance of various weekly multi-disciplinary meetings including formal internal meetings
  • Overseeing receipt of all the necessary training to ensure Cilantro is certified to complete handover and commissioning to the client
  • Dealing with the client and its representative in a professional and positive manner; representing the company in a best practice setting
  • Writing and management of concise Commissioning Method Statements.
  • Troubleshooting technical problems
  • Fully versatile with Cilantro’s Electrical and Mechanical Safe Systems of Work (ESSW & MSSW) and liaise with the APs at all times

Skills and experience required

  • Must have substantial project management experience
  • HND/BCs Hons in Engineering or a minimum of a HNC in Engineering
  • Strong problem solving and analytical capabilities, along with people management and large team leading capabilities (essential)
  • Forward-thinking individual with the ability to provide solutions and make decisions
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate across all levels
  • Member of recognised industry institute such as CIBSE/IET/CIOB (preferred but not essential)
