PROJECT MANAGER

Salary: Negotiable

The Role:

To manage the Mechanical and Electrical Divisions of the relevant residential project from conception through to delivery, ensuring highest consideration is given to complying with current regulations and specific client requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate installation and commissioning of the project’s mechanical  (plumbing) and electrical requirements
  • Ensure the project is thoroughly planned to be completed according to schedule and budget
  • Implement and monitor the profitability of the project using appropriate management accounts techniques and communicate the results to the Contracts Manager
  • Allocate design and construction contracts, provide project management advice to colleagues and contractors and undertake reviews of design and contract activities
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant technical aspects within the construction industry 
  • Liaise with the Mechanical and Electrical Divisions of the project to ensure successful overall project completion
  • Monitor the profitability of contracts using appropriate management accounts techniques and communicate the results to the Contracts Manager
  • Liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors and all other parties involved
  • Manage labour and subcontractors ensuring compliance with specification and contract documentation
  • Audit and prepare on-site quality plans
  • Monitor and maintain site HSE requirements
  • Establish an effective material stock control and storage system
  • Understand the requirements and actions to be taken to test and commission the project
  • Post contract completion i.e. clearing site/archiving/financial and practical review/installed drawings and manuals/secure disposal of confidential information and systems
  • Arrange on site commissioning and acceptance testing of the equipment
  • Establish an effective material stock control and storage system to maximize resources
  • Produce technical documents to aid in the commissioning process of the project
  • Maintain the company’s confidential information policy
  • Build relationships with all parties involved in the project and maintain effective team communication and cooperation for successful project completion

Skills and experience required:

  • Degree in Mechanical/Building Services Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years Mechanical Project Management experience within the residential sector (plumbing)
  • Competent in CDM, risk assessment and internal and external auditing
  • Must have a valid CSCS/SMSTS or equivalent
  • High level of commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and technical drawing skills
  • Self-motivated and with a high level of professionalism
  • The ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks at the same time
